Dawn Lynette Barto, 51, of Bradford died at 7:37 a.m. Monday, June 30, 2008, at her home in Lombardville in rural Bradford. Born June 24, 1957, in Kewanee to Duane and Dorcas (Gibson) Moore, she married John R. Barto June 5, 1976, in Sheffield. He survives. She was a 1975 graduate of Western High School and received a degree in accounting in 1991 from Illinois Central College, where she graduated with high honors. She was employed by Barcol Overdoor in Sheffield, was controller at U.S.A. Trucking in East Peoria, and was an office manager and accountant for American Eagle Buildings in Annawan for the last 17 years. She was a member of the Lombardville Athletic Club, Bradford Jaycees and GrandmasRus. She was known for focusing all her time on family and friends. The door was always open to her heart and home whether man or beast. Mother to most, friend to all. She will be dearly missed and forever remembered. Also surviving are her parents, Duane Moore of Sheffield and Dorcas (Juan) Gomez of Leesville, La.; two daughters, Reyna (Jehu Strange) Barto and Brooke Barto, both of Bradford; one stepson, Shawn Liggett of Bradford; three brothers, Kim (Terri Carper) Moore, Kevin Moore and Keith (Lisa Acreman) Moore, all of Bradford; and three grandchildren, Mckenna Liggett, John Eric Barto and Andrew Liggett, all of Bradford. She was preceded in death by her grandparents. Services will be at 7 p.m. Thursday in the First Baptist Church, Bradford, with Pastor Jeffery S. Patrick Sr. and the Rev. Dave Craig officiating. Burial will be in the Osceola Grove Cemetery, rural Bradford, at a later date. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday in the church. Memorials may be directed to Bradford Fire and Rescue. The Grant-Johnson Funeral Home in Bradford is in charge of arrangements.
