David H. Whited, 78, of Princeton passed away at 7:15 a.m. Wednesday, April 4, 2018, at Perry Memorial Hospital in Princeton. Born July 20, 1939, in Princeton to Henry D. and Mabel (Giesenhagen) Whited, he married Marie A. Hansen June 14, 1964, in Princeton. She survives. He graduated from Tiskilwa High School in 1957. He was employed by REA Rural Electric Association and retired from the City of Princeton Electric Department. He served as a lance corporal in the U.S. Marine Corps. He was a member of the Evangelical Covenant Church in Princeton. Also surviving are two sons, Barry (Melissa) Whited of Princeton and Derek (Angie) Whited of Princeton; three grandchildren, Calina, Ceilee and Philip Whited; and one sister, Sandra Doan of Princeton. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Shirley Velker and Eleanor Kidd. Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 9, at Elm Lawn Memorial Park in Princeton with Pastor Derek Boggs officiating. Inurnment will be in Elm Lawn Memorial Park with military rites conducted by Princeton American Legion Post 125. Cremation rites will be accorded at the Grant-Johnson Funeral Home Crematory in Princeton. Memorials may be directed to the Evangelical Covenant Church in Princeton.
David was a ” Good Egg ” ! i enjoyed his company n he was pleasant to be around . It hurt me to learn of his passing
