David was “My Boy”, he called me “Mom” – terms of endearment we shared while working together for many, many years onboard a motorcoach. The times spent with David will forever more be cherished. Sending our deepest love and sincerest prayers to Lisa, Kaitlyn and Kristyn.
So several years ago when Kaitlyn and I were in high school I stayed several days at the Bettner house one summer. One day Kaitlyn and I spent all day watching tv and eating pretzels. Lisa was not home that day. I am not sure why. But David came home after 7pm. And asked so what did you two do all day? Kaitlyn replied watched tv. David said what did you have for dinner nothing yet why what time is it? David told the time and asked what did you have for lunch? Kaitlyn said oh we must have for got lunch. So David asked so what did you eat today? Kaitlyn said pretzels. So David opened his wallet handed her some cash and so well why don’t you two go get some ice cream. So we had ice cream for dinner.
What a wonderful man David was to everyone. My motor coach groups loved him. We enjoyed many trips with Dave and he was always hard working and lots of fun! He was so proud of his family and always shared pictures. Lisa, my prayers and deepest sympathy to you and the girls.
I had spoken to David several times at my fuel island in Beaver Dam, WI before he passed. He was always in a good mood & smililing! What a pleasure to be around! My Deepest Sympathies to his Famly and Loved Ones!
“Very truly, I tell you, you will weep and mourn, but the world will rejoice; you will have pain, but your pain will turn into joy.”John 16:20
My prayers are with you Kaitlyn and all who loved your papa dearly. The one time we met I could easily see how he brightened the room.
