Dale Lee Staples, 56, of Princeton passed away Sunday, March 24, 2013, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria. Dale was born in Rapid City, S.D., on Aug. 14, 1956, to Roger and Wanda (Ballard) Staples. Dale grew up in Dover while attending Princeton Schools and graduated from Princeton High School. He was a retired union brother from the International Brotherhood of Boilermakers Lodge #60, Morton. Dale was an accomplished wood craftsman while he also enjoyed the outdoors, hiking the Hennepin Canal, morel hunting and making jelly from his raspberry bushes. Dale is survived by his fiancee, Nancy Lueken of Princeton; three brothers, Gary (Dianna Olson) Staples of Walnut, Russell (Rita Renz) Staples of Morrison, Colo., and Keith Staples of Dixon; three sisters, Connie (Paul) Ellison of Franklin Grove, Sandra (Rocky) Cook of Austin, Texas, and Cindy (Jeff Miller) Staples of Columbia, Pa. Dale was a loving uncle to many nieces and nephews. Friends are invited to visit with Nancy and family to give hugs and celebrate his life by sharing memories from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Grant-Johnson Funeral Home in Princeton. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the American Cancer Society which will go to Lung Cancer Research.
