Clyde A. Cordrey, 90, of Princeton, formerly of Bradford, died at 12:30 a.m.Tuesday, March 29, 2016, at Perry Memorial Hospital, Princeton. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, April 1, at Grant-Johnson Funeral Home, Bradford. Inurnment will be in Osceola Grove Cemetery, rural Bradford. Visitation will be from 1-2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the family. She was born Feb. 20, 1926, in Modena, the daughter of Thomas and Edna (Lyle) Singleton. She married: Russell Galloway Dec. 29, 1943, in Bradford. He died Jan. 11, 1977. She then married LaVerne "Spike" Cordrey in the early 1980s. He died in 1987. Surviving are four sons, Thomas (April) Galloway of Gainesville, Ga., John Galloway of Geneseo, Kenneth Galloway of Galesburg and Kevin (Jeri) Galloway of Henderson, Ill.; a daughter, Josephine (Jerry) Herring of Galesburg; 14 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her parents; three sons, Stanley, Gene and Charles Galloway; a sister, Maxine Blake; and a grandson, David Galloway. She was a homemaker and worked for the Morris Foundation sewing factory in Buda. She was a caregiver and loved to knit and crochet.
Our sincere condolences to your family! We are so sorry for your loss. Losing someone in death is such a sad time. We lost mom recently. We want to share some scriptures that give us the assurance that we will see her again.
“Do not marvel at this, because the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out.” John 5: 28, 29.
Isaiah 11:6-9 tells of a future where children will play with wild animals… “and no harm will come to them… right here on earth.”
