Clara Swalve 92, of Princeton, IL formerly of Manson, Iowa passed away on May 2, 2024, at her home in Princeton.

Clara was born on May 11, 1931, in Thompson, Iowa the daughter of John and Kate (Winter) Murra.  She attended the Buffalo Center School system in Buffalo Center, Iowa. Clara raised four daughters, Pamela, Valerie, Barbara and Patricia. While the girls were younger, she was a Girl Scout leader, and a member of numerous women’s organizations within the United Methodist Church. Clara enjoyed finishing woodwork, painting, sewing and reading. She was a great baker and always had fresh cookies, cakes or breads for the family and later her grandchildren. Most of all she enjoyed running after her children and driving or participating with them in their diverse activities.

Clara is survived by her four daughters, Pamela Williams of Phoenix, AZ, Valerie (Charles) Housman of Ankeny, IA, Barbara (Richard) Swalve Everett of Princeton, IL, and Patricia (Brian) Oxley of Bryon, MN; six grandchildren, Christoper Williams, Matthew Housman, Melissa Housman, Justin Everett, Jordan Onireti and Tyler Oxley; one great grandson, Isaac Everett. Three siblings survive including Lydia Lovik of Forest City, IA, Mildred Stromer of Garner, IA and Cecil Murra of Albert Lee, MN; along with many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Cremation Rites have been accorded. Per Clara’s wishes there will be a private family celebration at a time established by her children.

In lieu of flowers memorial gifts may be made to the Tunnels to Towers Foundation.
