Chloe M Howlett

Chloe M. Howlett, 94, of Sheffield died at 3:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 1, 2011, at Perry Memorial Hospital in Princeton. Born Feb. 12, 1916, in rural Sheffield to John L. and Anna (Fullerton) Smith, she married Ivan O. Howlett Oct. 3, 1937, in Crown Point, Ind. He died June 30, 2005. Surviving are one daughter, Sally (Robert) Welker of Sheffield; one son, Gary Ivan Howlett of Seattle, Wash.; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and two sisters. She was a 1934 graduate of Sheffield High School. She was a homemaker and a cook on the Mechling Barge Line. She was a member of the United Church of Christ in Sheffield.
