Dateline: Sheffield, Illinois Cheryl M. McCoy, 69, of Sheffield, Illinois died at 3:07 p.m. Saturday, August 4, 2018 at Aperion Care Bloomington, Illinois. A memorial service will be held Friday, August 10, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the Grant-Johnson Funeral Home, Princeton, Illinois with Rev. Brian Moore officiating. A visitation will be held from 9-11am Friday, August 10, 2018 prior to the service. Burial will take place in Sheffield Cemetery in Sheffield, Illinois. She was born September 27, 1948 in Watertown, South Dakota the daughter of Bennie and Caroline (Knutson) Oleson. Cheryl married Gerald McCoy November 18, 1967 in Mineral, Illinois. He preceded her in death January 14, 2018. She is survived by seven children: Robert Oleson of Kewanee, IL, Brenda McCoy of Wyanet, IL, Bernadine McCoy of Sheffield, IL, Randy McCoy of Garber, Iowa, Barbara McCoy of Sheffield, IL, Rich McCoy of Peoria, IL, and Ronnie McCoy of Mineral, IL; 14 grandchildren; one sister, Carol Keller of Princeton, IL, two brothers-in law, Buddy McCoy and Bud Reneau, and 5 nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, 4 siblings: Roger Oleson, Kathy Thorson, Betsey Reneau, Robert John Oleson; and one nephew, John Phelps. Cheryl worked at Harper-Wyman in Princeton for seventeen years. She enjoyed fishing, puzzles, walking, and spending time with her kids and grandkids.
