Cheryl Ann (Ahrendt) VanWaes, of Princeton, IL. was surrouned by her family when she passed away suddenly Sunday, January 22, 2023, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria, IL.
Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Thursday, January 26, 2023, at the Grant-Johnson Funeral Home, Princeton. Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, January 27, 2023, at Grant-Johnson Funeral Home, Princeton. Pastor Laura Tanner will be officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery, Princeton. Pallbearers; Dylan Schaefer, Ky Mecum, Cody Cumpton, Austin Brown, Shavaun Hayletts and Kayne Wade.
Cheryl was born July 6, 1944, to Wallace and Lorraine (Denbow) Ahrendt in Sioux Falls, SD. The oldest of three siblings, she moved to Princeton in 1966.
Survivors are four children, Janet Spanos, Jill Cumpton, Michael Schaefer and Amber (Andrew) Burress; two brothers, Larry & Wayne Ahrendt; 12 grandchildren, Taryn, Austin, Brittney, Tori, Bailey, Cody, Hannah, Dylan, Ky, Kennedy, Kayne and Charley; 9 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Cheryl was a stylist for over forty years, dedicated to her clients and her craft. When she wasn’t in her salon, Cheryl enjoyed gardening, traveling and spending time with family.
We are so sorry for your loss! Cheryl was a very kind and caring person. Our prayers are with you all.

I’m so sorry for your loss, I hope the family is doing well.
We are so saddened to hear of Cheryl’s passing. We just saw her a couple of weeks ago, she was a wonderful person and will be missed.
