Charles Wayne Carrier, 64, of Princeton, IL, passed away on Monday, August 17, 2026, at his home.

Charles was born on August 13, 1962, in Quincy, IL, the son of Burnetta (Carrier) Thomas and was raised by Edwin and Cora (Pierce) Carrier.  He worked at Dairy Queen in Princeton and, most recently, at Hornbakers.  Charles enjoyed fishing, playing horseshoes, bible study, socializing around town, drinking coffee and imparting his wisdom to the people he visited with.

Charles is survived by many friends; two siblings, Kathryn Ammons of Tower Hill, IL, and Perry Carrier of Winchester, CA.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Walter Carrier; and one sister, Betty Carrier.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

Cremation rites have been accorded.

Memorial may be directed to Gateway Services for his final expenses.

  1. I will miss Charley, whom I called Mr. Coffee out of endearment, every day. He was part of my routine, seeing him outside, talking when we could, always a positive word, nod, or gesture. His smile made many others smile. Charley always had a wave and hello for everyone, even if they didnt reciprocate. We miss you Mr Coffee! A small memorial of you will be at my station so that I can still say hello every day. 💔
