Charles R. Gardner, 73, of Bradford passed away Saturday, Oct. 27, 2012, at home. Born July 31, 1939, in Peoria to Charles A. and Beatrice E. (Fleming) Gardner, he married Alma P. Baker on Sept. 2, 1984, in Trivoli, Ill. She survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Michele Gardner (Sean Anderson) of Norfolk, Va., and Letitia (Dave) Ferman of Bradford; two stepsons, Mark (Sue) Baker and Tracey (Pamela) Baker, both of Bradford; 12 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one brother, Richard Gardner of Peoria; and two sisters, Lorna Sheets of East Peoria and Donna (Bob) Jones of Peoria. He was preceded in death by his parents. He graduated from Woodford High School in Peoria. He worked for Sieg Auto Parts for 40-plus years and was a member of First Baptist Church of Bradford. Services will be Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2012, at 10:30 a.m. at the First Baptist Church of Bradford, with the Rev. David Craig officiating. Visitation will be at the same location on Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2012, from 6 to 8 p.m. Burial will be in Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria. I was so sorry to hear of Chuck’s passing. He was a very polite and gentle man. I worked with him at Sieg for several years. So sorry for your loss. God Bless your family.
