Charles G. Wagner

Charles G. Wagner, 87, of Princeton died at 10:25 p.m. Thursday, June 21, 2018, at Aperion Care Nursing Home in Princeton. He was born Sept. 23, 1930, in Tiskilwa, the son of Fred and Merle (Fox) Wagner. He was previously married to Nora “Bonnie” Wagner and had one daughter, Barbara, and a stepdaughter, Mary. Chuck served in the U.S. Navy from 1949 to 1954, serving in the Korean War. He was an operating engineer for the Local 150. Chuck was a life member of Ottawa V.F.W. Post 2470. He enjoyed horse racing and spending time with his grandchildren. Surviving are one daughter, Barbara (Joe) Spitzer of Chillicothe; one stepdaughter, Mary Donnelly of Chillicothe; three grandchildren, Mathias, Donovan and Gavin Spitzer; two sisters, Martha Brian and Grace Kratz; four brothers, Clarence Wagner, Albert Wagner, Russell Wagner and Richard Wagner; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Glenn Wagner, Harold Wagner and Ralph Wagner; and six sisters, Ruth Heller, Edna Evans, Alma Jean Robinson, Alberta Sue Funderberg, Carol Ann Strozewski and Mary Elizabeth Wagner. Cremation rites have been accorded and burial will take place in Mount Bloom Cemetery in Tiskilwa at a later date. Memorials may be directed to the family.
