Charles Eugene Tracy, 66, of Princeton, died Thursday, Oct. 15, 2009, at his home. Born May 5, 1943, in Mount Vernon, Ill., to Charles V. and A. Lucretia (Buchanan) Tracy, he married Esther Felix Sept. 13, 1964, in the First Baptist Church of Fairfield, Ill. She survives. He graduated from Fairfield Community High School in 1961 and from Southern Illinois University - Carbondale in 1966 with a Bachelor of Science from the College of Business Administration. He served in the U.S. Army Reserves. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church and a former member of its church softball team. He was active in many civic and chamber organizations after moving to Princeton in 1966. He was a past president of the Princeton Jaycees and Rotary, of which he was a Paul Harris fellow. He was a charter member of the Board of Directors of Bureau County Day Care Center. He served on the Princeton Planning Commission and Zoning Board of Appeals for 10 years and was chairman for six years. He served for nearly 20 years as a coach and also as a member of the Board of Directors of Princeton Youth Baseball. He was a part of the coaching volunteers for the initial years of Princeton Youth Soccer League. He was a past member of Bureau Valley Country Club. He worked 12 years at Jostens, 16 years at Harper Wyman and 15 years at LCN where he was still employed, in Manufacturing Management. Also surviving are one daughter, Lisa (Michael) Petrauskas of Oswego; one son, David (Becky) Tracy of Pinckneyville; three grandchildren, Maddie, Sarah and Lauren Petrauskas; three stepgrandchildren, Brandie Buschschulte, and Misty and Dustin Van Meter; one stepgreat-granddaughter, Faith Buschschulte; one sister, Eleanor (Fred) Schrieber of Sun City, Fla.; one brother, Gary (Kathy) Tracy of White House, Tenn.; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the First United Methodist Church, Princeton, with the Rev. Dr. James P. Galbreath officiating. Cremation rites have been accorded. Burial will be private at Oakland Cemetery in Princeton. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday in the Grant-Johnson Funeral Home in Princeton. Memorials may be directed to Princeton Rotary, First United Methodist Church of Princeton or the donor''s choice.
