Carolyn S. Lawson, 70, of Tiskilwa died at 9:52 p.m. Monday, May 23, 2011, at home. Born July 15, 1940, in Brownstown to Harry and Bonnie (Williams) Carson, she married Don E. Lawson in Tiskilwa on July 22, 1956. He survives of Tiskilwa. She was a wife, mother and grandmother, CNA at area nursing homes, worked at Guzzardo''s in Princeton. She was a member of the Tiskilwa United Methodist Church and charter member of Tiskilwa Ambulance Service and the Tiskilwa American Legion Auxiliary 346. Also surviving are two daughters, Judy (Mike) Mattern of Tiskilwa, and Paula (Brian Malvan) Lawson of Hallandale Beach, Fla.; two sons, David (Peggy) Lawson of Mendota, and Robert Lawson of Princeton; seven grandchildren, Eric Arbuckle, Jennifer Roulston, Michael Lawson, Rachel Bejster, Katie Lawson, Tyler Lawson and Zach Lawson; and two great-grandchildren, Lauryn & McKynna. She was preceded in death by her parents. Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Tiskilwa Community Church, the Rev. Amy Holman officiating. Burial will be in the Mount Bloom Cemetery in Tiskilwa. Visitation was held Wednesday night at Grant-Johnson Funeral Home, Princeton. Memorials may be made to Friends of Strays or the Tiskilwa Historical Society. Pallbearers will be Denny Miller, Mike Mattern, Eric Arbuckle, Cory Sanders, Joel Bejster and Tyler Lawson. Honorary pallbearer will be Zach Lawson.

  1. I could tell what a great Mom Miss Carolyn was because of the love Judy showed to her Mom in the care she returned to her Mom. Miss Carolyn is in a new body that won’t wear out or grow old. Cancer is thing of the past. Miss Carolyn is enjoying God’s Blessing for accepting Jesus as her Savior.
