Carol S. Buckman

Carol S. Buckman, 65, of Buda died Friday, Dec. 21, 2018, at home.
Carol was born Sept. 10, 1953, in Princeton to Irvin and Ethel (Bimm) Fisher. She graduated from Tiskilwa High School in 1971 and married Thomas Buckman on Dec. 30, 1972.
She was active with the boys as Cub Scout leader, to homeroom and following in sports. She was self-employed cleaning offices and for several senior citizens. She worked at Bureau Valley School in the kitchen and transportation.
Her hobbies included sewing, baking and working in the yard. She was known as the "cookie lady,” always baking cookies and sharing them. She enjoyed her family and watching her grandkids grow into young adults.
Survivors include two sons, Chad (Laurie) Buckman and Todd (Cathy) Buckman; eight grandchildren, Michael (Brittany) Buckman, Danielle (Tyler) Schenkel, Justin Buckman, Erica Buckman, Taylin Ritter, Jack Ritter, Ashley Buckman and Joseph Ritter; four brothers, Dick (Mariele) Fisher, Jerry (Chris) Fisher, Larry (Bonnie) Fisher and Tom (Lezlie) Fisher; five sisters, Liz (Jack) Piacenti, Sharon (Gary) Still, Anna (Jim) Meyer, Barb Oneill and Bernice (Dave) Shuetz; one sister-in-law, Eleanor Fisher; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Dan; and two sisters, Pearl and Susie in infancy.
A Celebration of Life service will be from 10 a.m. to noon Thursday, Dec. 27, at the Grant-Johnson Funeral Home in Princeton. There will be a luncheon to follow for friends and family at the Buda Community Hall in Buda.

Carol was a really good friend and co-working enjoyed going with her for breakfast when we could. She will be missed but always in my heart. My prayers are with the family.
