Carol L. Allicks of Princeton, Illinois passed away on November 16, 2024, at home surrounded by her loving family.
Carol was born to Robert L Warren and Margie Mae (Funderberg) Warren at home in Arispie Township on May 27, 1942. Carol was oldest of eight children that would be born to Robert and Margie. Carol was raised in Bureau Township on the Pierce Farm. She attended Bureau Township School and graduated in 1960. Her fondest memories were of the farm; and the love of her family, friends and neighbors while living on the farm and in the Bureau Township Community.
Carol met her husband, Red Allicks at the skating rink on East Peru in Princeton. They were married on December 10, 1961 by the Reverend Randall Rice at the Bureau Township Community Church. They were married 62 years. Red preceded her in death in May 2024.
Carol worked as a nursing assistant at Perry Memorial Hospital in Princeton in the 1960s, and as a registered pharmacy technician. She served the community at Perry Memorial for 25 years. Upon retirement, Carol continued to serve the community by becoming involved with the American Legion Auxiliary Post #125. She held the position of unit president for many years. Veterans were near and dear to her heart, and she was proud to serve the veterans in the community.
Carol is survived by her daughters Lisa (Terry) Clark of Princeton and Kelli (Dean) Kirk of Republic Missouri. 5 grandchildren Jenny (Jonathan) Hartsock, Jackie (Scott) Bednara, Lindsay (Matt) Smith, Dana (Kyle) Metropoulos and Kristall (Jonah) Fears and 12 great grandchildren. She is survived by her siblings Barbara (William) Crisman, Jean (Harry) Hayes, Diana Martin, Robert (Kristi) Warren, Susan Carbenia, Charles (Lora) Warren, and Richard (Pam) Warren.
Carol is preceded in death by her husband Red Allicks, her parents and grandparents.
Private graveside services with immediate family and close family friends will be held at 11:00am on Thursday, November 21, 2024 at Forrest Hill Cemetery in Wyanet, Illinois. Arrangements are being made by Grant-Johnson Funeral Home in Princeton.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given directly to the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 125.
