Carol I.M. Hassler, 81, of Princeton died at 12:50 a.m. Monday, June 6, 2016, at Liberty Village of Princeton. Born Nov. 3, 1934, in Bureau County to Hayward and Florence (Carter) Trobaugh, she married Curtis LeRoy Hassler Feb. 4, 1951, in Princeton. He died Aug. 13, 2011. She was employed for 20 years at Hornsby in Princeton. She also worked at Ohmite in Princeton and L.W. Schneider in Princeton. She was a member of the Christian Church in Princeton. Surviving are two daughters, Sharon (Bill) Bickett of Princeton and Shelly (Ron) Teske of Wyanet; two sons, Charles Hassler of Princeton and Clint Hassler of Princeton; 10 grandchildren, Beth (Rob) Hammock, Burt (Krystal) Bickett, Aaron (Brittany) Teske, Brandon Teske, Colton Teske, Tiffan (Dusty) Stees, Melissa (Dan) Whitford, Eric Behrens, Mickey (Ben) Frazier and Cody Hassler; and 10 great-grandchildren, Brayden, Braxton and Bryant Bickett, Skylar, Lily and Emery Teske, Nathan, Gavin and Madelyn Stees, and Ean Frazier. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one daughter, Sheryl Behrens; one brother, Eugene Trobaugh; and two sisters, Ada Dye and Alice McKeoen. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, June 10, at the Grant-Johnson Funeral Home in Princeton with Tom Odell officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery, Princeton. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, June 9, at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Burt Bickett, Aaron, Brandon and Colton Teske, Eric Behrens and Cody Hassler. Memorials may be directed to the O.S.F. Children Heart Unit in Peoria.

Loved working with Carol at Hornsbys for years. She was always smiling and happy. Will miss seeing her when she was out and about. My prayers are with you Shelly and the rest of the family.

I was so sorry to hear of Carol’s passing. She was a special lady. I tried to visit her or get in touch whenever I was in the area. I know my mom was close to her also. My condolences to all her family.
