Resided in: Malden, IL

Brandon Michael Bankes, 39, of Malden, Illinois, passed away at his home on Wednesday, July 8, 2026.

Brandon was born on February 11, 1987, in Wichita, Kansas, to Andrew Thomas Bankes and Lynn Ann Siebert. He earned an Associate’s degree from the University of Phoenix and proudly served his country in the United States National Guard.

On July 8, 2012, Brandon married the love of his life, Brooke Rosenow, in Jamaica. He worked as a carpenter and took great pride in his craftsmanship. In his spare time, he enjoyed woodworking and creating with his hands. Brandon was a hardworking man with an unwavering work ethic, and the kind of person whose character, kindness, and dedication are not easily found and will never be forgotten.

Brandon found joy in life’s simple pleasures. He loved listening to music and attending concerts, was a fantastic chef who delighted family and friends with his cooking, and enjoyed fishing and taking vacations with his loved ones. He especially loved looking to the skies—watching beautiful sunrises and sunsets, gazing at the stars on clear nights, and finding peace in listening to the wind rustling through the trees and the birds singing. These quiet moments brought him comfort and reflected his deep appreciation for the beauty of the world around him.

Above all else, Brandon was a devoted husband and father. His greatest joy in life was his family, and his two sons, Dexter and Jasper. They truly were the light of his life. He treasured all moments spent with them, creating memories they will carry with them forever.

He is survived by his loving wife, Brooke Bankes; his two sons, Dexter and Jasper Bankes, all of Malden, Illinois; his father and stepmother, Andrew and Hazel Bankes of Princeton; his mother, Lynn Siebert of Florida; his brother, Dustin (Christina) Bankes; his stepbrother, Eric; his stepsisters, Sabrina, Peggy, and Jessica; and several nieces and nephews.

Brandon was preceded in death by his grandmother, Christine Bankes.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Cremation rites have been accorded.
