On Friday, December 2, 2022, Bonnie Joan Dickens, 86 of Princeton, Illinois passed away peacefully with her children by her side to be with the Lord. Born to Dessie and Minnie Hart on April 12, 1936, in Eldon, Iowa. Bonnie graduated from Hall High School and worked several years at Harper Wyman. She married the late Charles Dickens on April 19, 1955, sharing 41 years of marriage. Bonnie served on the Bureau Congregational Church Board where she taught Sunday School for several years, as well as the Leepertown School Board, and the Bureau Village Board. She devoted her time to several youth groups, community, and nonprofit organizations. Her greatest joy was attending her children and grandchildren’s sporting events, dance recitals, and theater performances. She also enjoyed traveling, reading, and spending time with family and friends. Bonnie is survived by her children Sherri (Gary) Sturm of Princeton, Illinois, Tamara Heuchert of Indio, California, Charles (Barb) Dickens II of Princeton, Illinois, Lisa (Dan) Kasperski of Ladd, Illinois, Craig (Lisa) Dickens of Princeton, Illinois, along with 13 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and her sister Alice Yarrington of Princeton, Illinois. She is proceeded in death by her husband Charles Dickens, daughter Dana Dickens and 11 siblings. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 7 at 10:00am with services following at 11:00am at Grant-Johnson Funeral Home located at 30 West Mechanic Street, Princeton, Illinois. Pastor Bonnie Micheletti will be officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery Bureau, Illinois.

  3. Sorry for your loss! My condolences to the family! Bonnie was always kind, I remember being in the hospital with a broken femur when I was younger and received a get well card from Bonnie and that was so nice. She will be missed!
