Bonita “Bonnie” Mae Bauer, 60, of Buda, Illinois passed away, Saturday, June 23, 2018 at Kewanee Care following complications of cancer. Funeral services will be held Friday, June 29, 2018 at 10:00a.m. Bunker Hill Church of God, Buda, Illinois. Visitation will be held Thursday, June 28, 2018 from 4-8p.m. at the Bunker Hill Church of God, Buda, Illinois. Burial will immediately follow the funeral service at Bunker Hill Cemetery. Bonnie was born November 5, 1957, the daughter of Robert and Monica (Flegel) Love. Bonnie was a 1975 graduate of Clare High School, Clare, Michigan. She married Jack Bauer of Bradford, Illinois in 1991 in Buda, Illinois. Bonnie was a member of the United States Air Force. She had been employed with Jostens, Younggren''s Grocery Store, and Beck Oil Co. Bonnie and Jack became foster parents in 1996 and continued fostering until they adopted their two youngest sons. Bonnie enjoyed traveling on many family vacations. She enjoyed crocheting, indoor plants, watching sporting events, plays, musicals, and pageants. Bonnie was a previous Buda Rescue Unit volunteer, was involved for 15 years with USTA, was involved with autism awareness, and a member of the Concerns of Police Survivors and involved with many of the activities. Bonnie''s favorite thing to do was anything that involved her grandkids. Survivors include her husband, Jack of Buda; her children, Shanna (Joe) Schmitt of Camanche, IA, Johnathan (Sarah) Lanxon of Clinton, IA, Jeremiah Bauer of Buda, Amanda (Andy) Johnston of Manawa, WI, Andrea (Steven) Bauer of Dover, IL, Nathan Bauer of Buda, and Joey Bauer of Buda; brothers: Bob (Linda) Love of Michigan, Rodger (Patti) Love of Texas; sisters: Sandy (James) House of Michigan, and Kathy Love of Hawaii; grandchildren: Connor, Zachary, Abigail, Jade, Olivia, Brittany, Isabella, Titan, Spartan, Kenneth, and Cooper. She was preceded in death by her parents, Bob and Monica Love and nephew, William Bauer. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Illinois Concerns of Police Survivors.

    Bonnie was a special lady who we had the privilege to meet at the COPS Extended Family Retreat. She was dedicated to her family and always put them first. We laughed and cried with her and will miss her humor. Thank you Bonnie for sharing yourself with us and being there for us.
