Bobby E. Ratliff, 75, of Princeton passed away at 12:05 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2013, at his home in Princeton. Born May 20, 1937, in Milo Township, Bradford, to George W. & Alice (Elmore) Ratliff, he married H. Carol Scott May 13, 1961, in Bradford. She survives. He was a 1955 graduate of Buda High School. In partnership with his two brothers for 35 years, he co-owned George''s Service Station in Princeton. He also worked for the Hennepin Canal for eight years and the Illinois Department of Transportation for eight years. He served in the Army Reserves for six years. Also surviving are two daughters, Tammy (Bob) Watkins of Henry and Jennifer (Jim) Chase of Ohio, Ill.; four grandchildren, Daniel and Debbie Watkins of Henry, and Jessica and Kyle Chase of Ohio, Ill.; and three sisters, Elmarene Thompson of Dixon, Wauneta Lang of Galva and Shirley Bornsheuer of Princeton. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Harold, George and Ronald Ratliff; and one sister, Lula Mae Frank Day. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Grant-Johnson Funeral Home, Princeton, with the Rev. Tom Ostrander officiating. Burial will be in Elm Lawn Memorial Park, Princeton. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to the Alzheimer''s Association or the American Cancer Society.

  1. Our deepest sympathy comes your way. Losing a loved one is never easy under any situation. Uncle Bob was truly a very special Uncle as I saw looking at some of Mom’s old photos and as I can say for myself now.
