Bobbie Jane Whittle

bobbie whittle
Bobbie Jane Whittle, age 81, of Bradford, IL passed away Wednesday, December 2nd, 2015 surrounded by her children, while a peaceful snow fell outside. She despised snow, but she loved her Momma and Daddy, Reba B. and James F. Floyd, who preceded her in death and Bobbie is now dancing in Heaven with them while listening to her favorite Elvis music. Bobbie loved and cherished her six siblings, all from Mississippi. Her brother, Sonny, preceded her in death. She is survived by George Strahan, Violet Bliss, Vicky Laird, Lonnie Strahan and Regina Tucker. Bobbie was doted on and loved so much by her children Teresa Hoye (Creve Coeur), Daniel Hoye (Marquette Heights), Bettina Oberle (Creve Coeur) and Brenda Colgan (Bradford) as well as a step-daughter, Judy Waggoner (Pekin). She was preceded in death by one step-daughter, Jolene Carlton (Pekin). She was known lovingly by the name “MeeMaw” by so many, but especially her precious Grandchildren Zachary Colgan, Natalee Runyan, Christopher Hoye, Chelsea Colgan-Krans, Ashley Hoye, Elise Oberle, Emily Oberle and Avery Whittle. She had two great-granddaughters who, just by mentioning their names, Aria Krans and Izzy Hoye, brought out the twinkle in her beautiful blue eyes. When you went to MeeMaw''s house, there was always an endless supply of StarCrunch cookies in the cookie jar for her grandchildren and all of their friends. If you knew Bobbie, you immediately loved her. She was a sweet, kind, feisty, strong Southern woman, born on November 4, 1934 in New Orleans, Louisiana. She loved the LSU Tigers, Alabama Crimson Tide and oh my how she loved her CUBBIES AND BEARS!!! Visitation will be from 9-11am with funeral services following, on Saturday, December 5th, 2015 at Grant-Johnson Funeral Home in Bradford, Illinois. Pastor Steven Hauter will officiate. Feel free to bring along a story to share of how you came to know and love Bobbie/MeeMaw so we can celebrate the life of this great woman who will be missed by so many. Memorials may be directed to Bradford Rescue Squad.
