Bernard "Rommie" R Russelburg

Bernard R. "Rommie" Russelburg, 84, of Wyanet died at 4:40 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 6, 2011, at Perry Memorial Hospital in Princeton. Born Nov. 14, 1926, in Waverly, Ky., to Charles Everett and Anna Mildred (Wolf) Russelburg, he married Helena Williams, May 7, 1947, Princeton. She survives. He was a lifetime farmer and a member of the Bureau County Farm Bureau. He served in the U.S. Army as a private first class during World War II. Also surviving are two sons, David Anthony (Lynn) Russelburg of Wyanet and Douglas A. (Kay) Russelburg of Tiskilwa; two daughters, Debra A. (John H.) Hansen of Wyanet and Delores A. Butler of Mendota; four sisters, Cathrine (Walter) Christian of Wilmington, Del., Martha (John) Christian of Kewanee, Eva Cunfare of Mendota and Phyllis Salsman of Galesburg; eight grandchildren; seven stepgrandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Charles, Joseph and Robert Russelburg; and one sister, Retha Mae Vance. Services will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Grant-Johnson Funeral Home, Princeton, with Father Jeffrey Stirniman officiating. Burial of cremains will be in Hopeland Cemetery, Buda, at a later date. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to the donor''s choice.
