Barry Keith McCauley, 70, of Princeton, IL, formerly of Zeigler, IL, passed away on Tuesday, December 10, 2024 at St. Clare Hospital in Princeton.

Barry was born on February 3, 1954 in DuQuoin, IL the son of Albert and Wanda Lee (Fiss) McCauley.  He married Kimberly D. Rogers on February 25, 1978 in Zeigler, IL. Barry was a graduate of Southern Illinois University Carbondale. He was a mining engineer and worked as a Blasting Expert with the Department of Natural Resources for the State of Illinois until his passing. Barry was an avid reader, and you could always find him with a book in hand. Over the years, he enjoyed golfing and annual fishing trips with his childhood buddies. More recently he had picked up the ukulele and became quite the “Swiftie”. Barry loved his animals, and they would always be found by his side. Most of all, he loved and cherished his three daughters, his sons-in-law, his five grandsons, and his wife of 46 years.

He is survived by his wife, Kim McCauley of Princeton; three daughters, Casey (Skottie Young) McCauley-Young of Prairie Village, KS, Cara (Chad) Forinash of Louisville, KY and Erin Beth (Matt) Porter of South Bend, IN; five grandchildren, Baxter Young, Milo Young, Graham Forinash, Finn Forinash and Lincoln Porter. Also surviving is his brother, Mark (Kelley) McCauley of Springfield, IL.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Pamela Rohach.

A celebration of his life will be held at a later date in Spring 2025, in Southern Illinois, where Barry was originally from. Cremation Rites have been accorded.
