Audrey Marie Denholm

Audrey Marie Denholm 91 of Tiskilwa, IL passed away peacefully under Hospice care at Heartland Healthcare of Henry, IL March 27, 2015. She was born August 29, 1923 in Avon, IL to Russell D. and Elva Belding Potter. She married C. Earl Duncan in 1944, he died in 1974. She was preceded in death by her second husband, James L. Denholm and her youngest daughter Joann Marie Golden in 2013, three brothers, Art, George and Gary Potter and one sister Martha Hoffmaster. Surviving are two daughters Sandy (Kevin) Stewart of Mesa, AZ, Shirley Feurer of Lynwood WA, three granddaughters Jennifer (Roger) Tucker, Tess Prange (Chad) of Bellview NE and Mariah (Pete) Calkins of Lynwood, WA. After having all girls she was blessed with six great grandsons; Sam and Ben Prange, Danny, Adam and Evan Calkins and Konner J. Tucker. She was a member of Boyd''s Grove United Methodist Church in Bradford IL. Even when still working she stayed very active in church and community based projects before her failing health. Always being a hard worker from a young age she began her working life with Caterpillar before meeting C. Earl Duncan there and beginning their family. She then began working with Stanley Home Products becoming a highly awarded Saleswoman. Raising three daughters she and Earl worked together until his passing. Very determined she survived to carry two and three jobs at a time to provide for her family. A country girl at heart she found a house in rural Tiskilwa IL. And it was Lovingly named “Audrey''s Little Acre”. She began working at Caterpillar again while remodeling the house, growing and preserving the fruits of her labor. When she was laid off from Cat, she went to work for Schwans Enterprises being promoted and awarded several times by Mr. Marvin Schwan. As Cat began calling people back she was able to finish out her time there retiring while remaining with Schwans. After meeting James L. Denholm they were married in 1992 and continued their lives together there in Tiskilwa. They traveled the country visiting family members and sharing their bounty of foods grown together. They spent a couple of winters in her home in Florida until deciding that Illinois soil was better suited for growing their much loved gardens of fruits, vegetables and her much loved flowers. Always willing to encourage and help others she volunteered with Bureau County Hospice and touched countless lives throughout her amazing life. Services will be at 11:00 am Tues March 31 at Boyd''s Grove United Methodist church in Bradford with Pastor Amy Holman officiating. Visitation will be at 10:00 am with lunch following the service. Burial and graveside services for family will be at Avon Cemetery. Donations can be made to Unity Point Hospice or Alzheimer''s Association.
