Arthur L. Erickson, 83, of Princeton died at 9:10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 2, 2009, at Colonial Hall in Princeton. He was born March 14, 1926, in Ohio, Ill., to John and Tillie (Miller) Erickson. Survivors include five sisters, Margaret Schaill of Princeton, Alice Morris of Princeton, Minnie (Gordon) Shipp of Wyanet, Helen (Gary) Vaughn of Princeton, and Elsie Jackson of Dover; two brothers, Jack Erickson of Princeton, and Robert Erickson of Princeton; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Russell Erickson; and one sister, Martha Hoffman. He graduated from Bureau Township High School in 1944. He was a lifetime farmer, and retired in March of 2009. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Manlius and served in the U.S. Army Infantry during World War II from 1944-1946. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Grant-Johnson Funeral Home in Princeton, the Rev. Robert H. Allen officiating. Burial will be in Elm Lawn Memorial Park in Princeton. Military rites will be conducted by Princeton American Legion Post 125.Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Manlius.
