Arnold D Rodseth

Arnold D. Rodseth, 84, of Wyanet passed away at 4:40 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 30, 2013, at Liberty Village of Princeton in Princeton. Born Dec. 24, 1928, in New Bedford to Andrew and Margaret (Engles) Rodseth, he married Irma D. Flint Sept. 26, 1987, in Wyanet. She died Aug. 27, 2006. He worked in maintenance at Western High School in Buda, retiring in 1988 after 21 1/2 years. He was a 50-year member of Buda American Legion Post 261 and the Congregational Church in Buda. He served as a corporal in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Surviving are two sons, Bradley (Carol) Rodseth of Minonk and Kevin (Debra) Rodseth of Chillicothe; four grandchildren, Jennifer (Bradley) Hoven of Germantown Hills, Brian (Debroah) Rodseth of Normal, Cameron Rodseth of Peoria and Stephanie (Jason) Podgorny of Minonk; eight great-grandchildren; one brother, Lawrence Rodseth of Alpine, Calif.; and two sisters, Joanne (Edward) Alepra of Kewanee and Sharon (Jerry) Guisti of Mark. He was also preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Lance and Lars Rodseth; and two sisters, Isabell Cowan and Romayne Cox. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Grant-Johnson Funeral Home, Princeton, with Pastor Willy Minnix officiating. Burial will be in Elm Lawn Memorial Park, Princeton. Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Monday at the funeral home with military rites conducted by Buda American Legion Post 261. Memorials may be directed to the Wounded Warriors Project.

I was very sorry to hear about the passing of your dad and grandfather. Saw him not too long ago at Liberty Village. Know that you are in my thoughts at this time. I often think about all the great times we had skating, playing hockey, fishing and frogging at the ponds behind your house.
