Allan Dean Sexton

March 20, 1938 ~ February 10, 2021
On Wednesday, February 10, 2021, Allan Sexton, loving husband, father and grandfather passed away peacefully at the age of 82. Allan was born on March 20, 1938 in Jamestown, OH to Pearl and Alice Sexton. He received his veterinary degree from the Ohio State University. After graduation he moved to the Chicagoland area and practiced veterinary medicine as well as engaging in a series of successful entrepreneurial ventures. He and his wife Jeanne (Byrnes) raised their five children before eventually moving to a farm in Sheffield, IL.
Allan had a passion for work of all kinds. Whether it was his business ventures, his endless reading or working his gardens; he had little interest in idle hands or an idle mind. He was quick with a smile and quicker to lend a hand to those who needed it. Spending time on family vacations was one of his great loves and he was perhaps happiest when experiencing nature, be that a lake in the deep woods of Canada or reef diving in the Florida Keys.
Allan was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Clara (Dutenhaver). He is survived by his wife Jeanne, his children Tracy (George), Clint (Lisa), Heidi (Rodney), Eric (Samantha), and Ward (Robyn) as well as fourteen grandchildren.

You father sounded like an amazing man! I am sorry to have never met him and very sorry for your loss.
Jeremy House sent a farm update and I happened to read it, as I don’t always do. I have gotten real food off and on from Meadow Haven in the western suburbs of Chicago for many years. Jeanne and Allan would come to Weston A Price meetings in Downers Grove and bring there excellent quality foods.
It was nice to see his face on here, as it has been so many years since I have seen it. I remember having him at our home for a short visit while turkeys were being delivered for Thanksgiving many years ago. He helped me figure out what was going wrong with my dog at the time; she was experiencing a bad skin infection.
Blessings to the Sexton family. I will make a donation.
