Alice R. Rodgers, 87, of rural Sheffield died Sunday, March 27, 2016, at Liberty Village of Princeton. She was born Dec. 5, 1928, in rural Sheffield to Mel and Alice (DeMarlie) Emmerson. She married Kenneth Rodgers on Jan. 17, 1948, in Sheffield. She graduated in 1947 from Sheffield High School. She worked for Clifford Rahn family in Atkinson and then the Nelson Cleaners in Sheffield. She drove a school bus for Manlius Schools, was an election judge and was a supervisor for 16 years. She was a member of St. Patrick''s Catholic Church in Sheffield. Surviving are her husband, Kenneth Rodgers of Sheffield; one son, David (Deb) Rodgers of Sheffield; one daughter, Sally Louise (Jeff) Wallace of Walnut; five grandchildren, Meagan (Evan) Johnson of Wyanet, Liz Rodgers of Walnut, Danielle Wallace of Walnut, Suzy Wallace of Naperville and Darrell (Leslea) Wallace of Sterling; four great-grandchildren, Andrew Joseph Wallace of Sterling, and Ardyn, Marek and Ewyn Johnson of Wyanet; and one brother, Phill (Norma) Emmerson of Sheffield. She was preceded in death by parents; two brothers, Roger and Rene Emmerson; an infant son, Joseph Rodgers; and a granddaughter, Jessica Jane Wallace Sergeant. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 2, at St. Patrick''s Catholic Cemetery, Sheffield, with Mary G. McKinney officiating. Memorials may be directed to the Sheffield and Manlius rescue units, St. Patrick''s Catholic Church, the Diabetes Association or the Bureau Valley School Foundation.
