Albert Eugene Frank,“Gene” age 89, of Princeton left this earth Saturday, July 27th at Aperion Nursing Home.  He was surrounded by family he loved and that loved him.

Gene was born on May 17th, 1930 in Princeton to Freddie “Henry” Frank and Vivian I Boles. He was raised on various farms in the Manlius/Buda area.  Gene attended Buda schools before joining the National Guard and serving in Germany during the Korean War. He was very proud of his military service.

Before he entered the service, he met and later married the love of his life, Mildred (Milly) Smith on March 25th, 1951 and they spent the next 68 years together.  This union produced 6 children: Randy (Diane) of Montgomery,Alabama, Rick (Carol) of Hennepin, Kendall (Janet) of Princeton, Tim (Diana) of Ohio, Illinois, Debbie (David) Lehmann of Cleveland,Ohio and Lori (Dave) Scott of Kenton, Ohio.

Gene worked for 45 years at Harper Wyman in Princeton while raising his family. He also worked the small family farm on Little Denmark outside of Princeton for over 50 years.  He enjoyed his family and friends, farming, fishing, sitting under the old oak tree, and smoking his ever present pipe.

Gene is survived by his wife, Milly, his brother Lowell Frank and sister, Shirley Lavelle, 5 children and their spouses, daughter-in-law Janet Frank, 16 Grandchildren, and many great and great-great grandchildren

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Gail, his son Kendall, grandson Michael Birch of Alabama and great-grandson Jackson Frank of Buda.

Visitation will be Thursday August 1st at the Grant-Johnson Funeral Home in Princeton from 5 to 8 PM.  Funeral Services will be held on Friday August 2nd at 11 AM at the New Hope Church of the Nazarene with Pastor Laura Tanner officiating.  Burial will be in the Forest Hill Cemetery in Wyanet,Illinois following the church service with military rites conducted by the Wyanet VFW Post #6634 and the Princeton Veterans Group. Memorials may be directed to the family.
