Valerie Grace Frese

Valerie Grace Frese, 5, of Sheffield passed away Friday, Feb. 25, 2022, at her home after a long battle with Metachromatic Leukodystrophy (MLD).
She was born July 5, 2016, to Andrew and Kayla (Roberts) Frese.
Valerie was a beautiful, bright-eyed girl who loved her Disney movies and music. She especially liked Moana and Doc McStuffins. Before symptoms of MLD started, Valerie had a spunky, sassy personality and was not afraid to show it. She enjoyed attending school at Lighted Way, where she was adored by many people. She loved snuggling and watching movies with her mom and brother, as well as their dog Buck and cat Oscar. Although she did not get to live her life to the fullest, she handled those challenges with strength and bravery. Valerie is an inspiration to all who loved her, and will always be missed.
Surviving are her mother, Kayla (Garrett Fues) Frese of Sheffield; her brother, Tyler Frese of Sheffield; her maternal grandparents, Ernie (Jodi Roggy) Roberts of Buda and Rita (Jerry Kenealy) Roberts of Buda; her paternal grandparents, Dan (Lorie) Frese of Mendon and Adrienne (Tim) Ries of Sheffield; her great-grandparents, Ron Arnold of Buda, John and Kathy Frese of Mendon, Don and Lisa Rust of Ursa, and Bob and Brenda Corrigan of Loraine; her aunts, Lauren (Alex) Schmidt of Sheffield, Jessica Ries of Michigan and Rebecca (Chad) Billsby of Wisconsin; her uncles, Scott Roberts of Rockford, Nicholas Roberts of Wyanet, David (Jennifer) West of Quincy, Jeff (Amanda) West of Springfield, Justin (Sarina) Roggy of Mineral and Dusty (Autumn Erwin) Decker of Tiskilwa; and several cousins, great-aunts and great-uncles.
She was preceded in death by her father, Andrew Frese; her maternal great-grandmother, Bonnie Arnold; and her maternal great-great-grandmother, Lois Arnold.
Visitation will be from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 1, 2022, at St. Matthews Lutheran Church in Princeton, followed by a service at 6:00 p.m. with Pastor Scott Schmidt officiating. Burial will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 2, 2022, in the Sheffield Cemetery.
