Travis Reed Williquette (Freeman), 22, of Princeton, IL, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 22, 2025, at his home surrounded by family after a lifelong and courageous battle with cancer.

Travis was born on March 19, 2003, in Spring Valley, IL, the son of Julie Williquette and Kevin Freeman. Travis was a proud graduate of Princeton High School in 2024. To know Travis was to love Travis and you felt the unconditional love he gave back to everyone.

Travis later went on to be an employee at Miss Betsy’s Donut Shop in Princeton, IL. Where he was eager to greet every customer; most customers receiving a “Travis’s Baker’s Dozen”.

Travis was active in the Princeton community: from shopping, movies, to all the town festivities, and he loved a good old Trolley Ride. Travis was known to be a social butterfly and cherished supporting his local Princeton Tigers. He was an active athlete in Special Olympics’ and was a huge Chicago Bears and Chicago Cubs Fan.

Travis was an avid fisherman and had a good adventure of hunting with the U.S.S.A. He was an honorary Moose Lodge member in Princeton where he enjoyed playing the game of bingo. Travis was an active member of the VIP Group at the Evangelical Covenant Church in Princeton and in 2013 he was sworn in as an Honorary Police Officer.

Travis is survived by his mother, Julie; siblings, Jessica (Brock) Schmitt of Tiskilwa, IL, Kilee (Mark Coleman) Williquette of Clearwater, FL, Leanna Martinez of Princeton, IL, Mekenna Martinez of Princeton, IL, and James McInnes of Princeton, IL; nephews, Landon Schmitt, Braxton Schmitt, Atlas Martinez, and Jackson Coleman; grandmothers, Patricia Herbolsheimer and Donna Manning; aunts and uncles, Kelly (Jason) Wheatley, Mary (Edward) Walter, Misty (Kenny) Lampley and Auntie Angel Schlenz; as well as numerous cousins and many close friends Travis consider family.

Travis was preceded in death by his father, Kevin Freeman and grandmother, Pamela Wheatley.

Visitation will be held from 10:00am until time of funeral services at 1:00pm on Tuesday, September 30, 2025 at Grant-Johnson Funeral Home in Princeton, IL with Pastor Alex Taylor officiating. Burial will immediately follow at Oakland Cemetery in Princeton.

Memorials may be directed to Travis’s family to be donated to various charities at a later date. Checks to be made payable to Julie Williquette.
