Randy Eugene Roberts, 69, of Buda, IL passed away on Tuesday, April 29, 2025 at OSF St. Clare in Princeton, IL.

Randy was born on November 6, 1955 in Kewanee, IL the son of Lewis and Joann (Senzig) Roberts. He married Linda L. Nevitt on February 19, 1982 in Buda, IL. She preceded him in death on July 3, 2021.

Randy worked for Harper- Wyman and later for Champion. He also had his own lawn mowing business prior to his retirement in 2021. Randy was also a volunteer Fireman with Buda Fire Department; on the village board and water department and later was the Village Commissioner for Buda. He enjoyed fishing, but most of all loved spending time with his family. He will be greatly missed.

Survivors include his five children, Kay (Jarrod) Townsend of Wyanet, Tracy (Scott) Novotny of St. Charles, MO, Nicole (Phil) Dietsch of Fort Wayne, IN, Ryan (Amy) Roberts of Hopkinsville, KY and Renee Benavidez of Wyanet; 11 grandchildren, Dylan, Daelyn, Danicka, Audrey, Bradley, Faye, Zachary, Madison, Lydia, Joshua and Ashleigh; 6 great-grandchildren, Mason, James, Cooper, Rowan, Elyse and Sebastian; his mother, Joann Roberts of Buda; significant other, Brenda Odell and family; two brothers, George (Cheryl) Roberts of Buda and Mike (Audrey) Roberts of Princeville.

He was preceded in death by his father and wife.

A memorial visitation will be held from 4:00pm-7:00pm on Friday, May 2, 2025 at Grant-Johnson Funeral Home in Princeton, IL. Cremation Rites have been accorded. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Burial of cremated remains will be in Hopeland Cemetery in Buda.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to Bude Fire Department.

  4. Randy played centerfield and batted leadoff for my boy’s baseball team back in 1968. He could really cover the outfield defensively and was a terror on the bases. He was a pleasure to coach. Buda will miss him.
