Mark Anthony Baker

Mark Anthony Baker, 59, of Bradford, IL passed away on Sunday, September 1, 2024 at St. Luke’s Medical Center in Kewanee, IL.

Mark was born on January 11, 1965 in Canton, IL the son of Walter Baker and Alma (Alexander) Gardner. He married Susanna “Sue” West on March 21, 1987 in Stark County.

Mark worked as a truck driver for several years before becoming a farm hand for the Bartos until he retired.

In Mark’s spare time he enjoyed tinkering in his garage, putting together and painting toy car models, and doing odds and ends around the house. Most of all he cherished spending time with his loving family, mostly his devoted and caring wife.  He also couldn’t talk enough about his wonderful granddaughter, Hadley.

Survivors include his wife, Sue Baker of Bradford; two children, Joshua (Destinee) Crow of Ligonier, IN and Amber Spaniel of Kewanee; one granddaughter, Hadley Peach; his mother, Alma Gardner of Bradford; two siblings, Tracey (Pam) Baker of Bradford and Michele (Sean) Gardner-Anderson of Norfolk, VA; along with several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Walter Baker, stepfather, Chuck Gardner, one sister, Tish Ferman and two beloved dogs, Charlie and Smalls.

Cremation Rites have been accorded. There will be no services.
