Lenita Joyce Decker

Lenita Joyce Decker, 92, of Princeton, IL passed away on Sunday, February 8, 2026 at OSF St. Mary Medical Center in Galesburg, IL.

Lenita was born on September 21, 1933 in Walnut Ridge, AR the daughter of William Edward and Goldie Lavena (Rennison) Conrey. She worked as a secretary for the majority of her career retiring with the Census Bureau as a census collector in the early 2000’s. Lenita married Harvey Allen Decker on April 29, 1954 in Hayti, MO. He preceded her in death on January 5, 2012.

Lenita was a long-time member of Bethel Baptist Church in Princeton, IL and a past member of the Women’s Missionary Union. She enjoyed all types of gardening, collecting coins and antiques. Lenita loved to read her bible, but most of all cherished spending time with her family.

She is survived by her four children, Brenda Johnson of Princeton, Brent “Allen” Decker of Newark, TX, Deborah Woods of Barrington Hills and Paula Marshall of Princeton; seven grandchildren, Donald Woods, Patrick Woods, Zachary Johnson, Grace Angelo, Brent Decker, Nicholas Decker and Leonard Decker; 6 great granddaughters; one sister, Shirley James of AZ; along with several nieces and nephews.

Lenita was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son, Michael Decker; two sons-in-law, Bruce Johnson and Robert Marshall; three siblings, Julianna Ontiveros, Paul Cole and William Cole.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 am until time of funeral service at 11:00 am at Bethel Baptist Church in Princeton, IL on Friday, February 13, 2026 with Rev. Phil Zilinski officiating. Burial will immediately follow at Elm Lawn Memorial Park in Princeton.
