Kathryn Travers Mattingly Dabler, 86, of Bremerton, WA passed away on August 24, 2024. She was born in Washington DC in May 1938 to J. Everett Mattingly SR and G. Ethel (Ryan) Mattingly. Kathryn attended ST. Cecelia Catholic School in Washington DC.
Kathryn was a dedicated SAHM and had so much energy she developed interests in baking and decorating wedding cakes; became an Area Manager for Tupperware and an AM-Way Associate. She earned her Cosmetology License after she moved to Las Vegas, NV. Later in life she hit her stride in creating the “Kathryn Dabler Doll Hospital” where she enjoyed collecting, restoring and making period-accurate clothing for antique dolls.
Kathryn and her husband, Gary W. Dabler also enjoyed several years of traveling the country and visiting their friends and relatives in their Class A 40’ Monaco RV.
Kathryn is preceded in death by her parents, J.Everett Mattingly SR – Scottsdale, AZ (1997) and mother G.Ethel Ryan – Oxen Hill, MD (1965) ; Brothers – J.Everett (Jay) Mattingly JR – New Bern, NC (2020) and George Michael Mattingly – Vietnam (1967) and Sister – Anita Jane Mattingly Bane – Fairfax, VA (2022); 1st husband Leonard L. Wood – Dunkirk, MD (2012); and her 2nd husband and “The Love of her Life” Gary W. Dabler – Bremerton, WA (2020).
Kathryn’s memory will live on with her four children: Gary L. Wood (Diana) in Las Vegas, NV; Karen D. (Wood) Demerick (Peter) in Bremerton, WA; Greg N. Wood (Paula) in Dunkirk, MD; and Glen A. Wood (Michele) in Schwenksville, PA; along with 11 Grandchildren and 3 Great-Grandchildren.
A joint graveside Memorial Service will be held for both Kathryn and Gary Dabler on May 31, 2025 at 10am, at First Baptist Cemetery, 19501 Road 1200 E. Street, Manlius Township, Illinois 61379
