Julia “Julie” Ann Travis, 74, of Manlius, IL formerly from Morris, IL passed away on August 24, 2025, at her home surrounded by loved ones.
Julia was born on October 13, 1950 in Grayville, IL, to Augustine and Mary (Bratton) Anderson. She married Charles A. Travis Sr. on August 16, 1966. He preceded her in death on May 11, 2021. Julia owned and operated Julie’s Kids Daycare in her home welcoming numerus children through her doors throughout her 25-year career. Prior to running the daycare, she worked at Robkin’s Upholstery and had her own Dog-N-Donut Bakery.
Julia loved anything outdoors but especially fishing and camping on the Mississippi River in Savanah, IL. She enjoyed baking Christmas cookies and candy for her family and going yard-sailing, but most of all Julia loved her family and spoiling her grandkids.
Julia is survived by her children, James Travis, of Peru, Richard (Kathy) Travis, of Marseilles, Cherri (Brian) Woodin, of Manlius, Robert Travis, of Manlius, Shawn (Liz) Trim, of Henry; 24 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild on the way; one sister Kathy Mayszak of Spring Vally; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law; Debra (Mark) Baker, of Wyanet, Penny (Guy) Sharkey, of Wyanet, Sue Travis, of Wyanet, Raymond Travis, of Wyanet; and Ernie Barboza, of Depue; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Julia is preceded in death by her parents; in-laws; husband; son Charles A. Travis Jr.; grandson, Tyler; great grandson Malik Brown; siblings, Anita Walters, Alfred Anderson, Larry Anderson, Mary Paulette Barboza and Richard Anderson
A visitation will be held from 4:00 PM- 6:00pm on Friday, August 29, 2025 at Grant-Johnson Funeral Home in Princeton immediately followed by the funeral service at 6:00 PM with Pastor Kevin Quinn officiating. Cremation Rites will be accorded following the services.
Memorial donations may be directed to Julia’s family.
