“A great soul serves everyone all the time. A great soul never dies. It brings us together again and again.”-Maya Angelou
Ida M (Baker) Johnson, Mona as she was lovingly known, passed away peacefully on Tuesday February 18, 2025 in her home surrounded by prayers and love from near and far.
Mona was born September 25, 1931 to Kermit and Ruth (Shelton) Baker. She was blessed with 5 brothers and 4 sisters.
Mona had a servant soul that had no bounds. She was a devoted wife to her husband Robert H Johnson that continued beyond his passing in 2018. She was a loving, nurturing mother to her 3 children Mona Johnson, Robert (Susan) Johnson and Jodi (Michael) Nelson. The role in her life that brought her the most joy was being a Grandma to her 5 grandchildren and Gigi to her 11 great grandchildren.
The lives she has touched in her 93 years is immeasurable extending to her many nieces, nephews and friends young and old.
She will be greatly missed but will eternally live on in our memories and hearts.
A celebration of her life will be held at a later date, when the flowers she loved are vibrantly blooming.
Memorials can be made in Mona’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

The love between her and Bob was special to see and the love they spread to kids on down the line was noticeable by many.
Loved seeing stories of her and sister Marlene spending time together.
