Gary Wayne Dabler would have been 77 years old on May 13, 2021. We are celebrating his life during the month of May as he touched so many with his kindness and strength.
Gary Wayne Dabler, passed away on December 25, 2020 in Bremerton, Washington due to complications of COVID-19.
Gary was born in Princeton, IL to Robert W. Dabler and Caroline T. (Kares) Dabler. He attended Manlius schools, and graduated in 1962 from Ohio High School. He graduated Southern Illinois University, majoring in the dental technician program. He was also a veteran of the US Air Force.
Gary’s next career was his love of truck driving, including employment with Dick Swanson Trucking of Ohio. Many different trucking job opportunities led Gary to settle in southern California, where he worked as a truck driver for over 50 years and was a member of the Teamsters Union of Colton, California.
Gary’s family meant the world to him, and if you met him, you would be friends! He was a loving husband to his wife of 51 years, Kathryn (Mattingly) Dabler, and a devoted step-father. He was a jack of all trades, and always ready to help.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents, and niece, Rebecca Dabler. He is survived by his wife Kathryn; sons Gary, Gregory, and Glen Wood; daughter Karen Demerick; brother Dennis Dabler and his wife Janice Dabler of Princeton; nephew Michael Dabler of Chesterton, Indiana; and 11 grandchildren.
A private memorial service was held January 16, 2021 at Lewis Funeral Chapel in Bremerton, Washington.
