Dear Lord,
I lift up my friend, Mr Tim Scott, who is mourning the loss of his son. I ask that You bring him comfort in the midst of this life-changing grief. Thank you for Your promise to walk with and even carry him as he travels through this darkness of grief. Let him not be overcome with sadness, as those who have no hope, but to be strengthened by an awareness of Your presence.
Give him wisdom to make decisions and to handle any issues that may arise as arrangements are made and events take place. Protect his heart and mind. I pray a sense of calm would take hold, even while emotions around him run high, and that the peace you give him, overflow onto those nearby.
Lord, You know just what will minister the most to Mr Tim and his entire family, spiritually and emotionally right now. Gently lead them to find the right balance of being alone and being with others. Speak to them through Scripture. Show them Your love through the words and actions of someone else. Help them find moments of solace in the natural world You’ve created.
Thank You for being our Lord and Savior of all comfort, the One who holds us in Your hand. It says in Your Word that one day there will be no more death. But for now, I praise You for holding Mr Tim and his family and friends close and giving them rest.
In Jesus’ Name I pray,
Amen

Garrett was such a helpful, hard-working young man! He helped me with my garden anytime I needed help. We sat and talked all the time about having chickens and other silly things that young people never have the patience for…and yet he did. We miss you so much, Garrett! With love and many condolences.
Our thoughts and prayers are with Tim and the entire Scott family
Gayle and Andrea, you have my deepest sympathies. You both handle things with such grace. My heart breaks with this tragic loss.
