Elfriede M. Stier

Elfriede “Eva” M. Stier, 95, of Manlius, passed away on March 29, 2024 at Allure of Walnut in Walnut, IL.
Eva was born on April 7, 1928 in Vienna, Austria the daughter of Karl and Maria Braun. She married Glenn VanOrmer in Germany in 1950. They later divorced. He preceded her in death on September 19, 2018. Eva married Kenneth Stier on November 20, 1971 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Manlius. He preceded her in death on October 22, 2019. Eva was a longtime member of Trinity Lutheran Church and the Women of ELCA at the Church. She also was an EMT for Manlius Ambulance Service for 10 years. Eva enjoyed knitting and crocheting, but most of all cherished spending time with her family.
She is survived by five children, Susan (Kevin Smith) DeBrock of Walnut, Donna (Fred) Hansen of Ohio, Sally (Steve) Riley of Sheffield, Julie (Joe Slock) Lucas of Walnut and Kevin (Patti) Stier of Rock Falls; eleven grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren with two on the way.
Eva was preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation will be held from 10:00am until time of funeral service at 11:00am on Saturday, April 13, 2023 at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Manlius with Jeff Whalen, officiating. Burial will follow immediately at Manlius Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to Manlius Cemetery.
