Charles "Chuck"  D. Newstrand, 57, of Tiskilwa, Illinois died Sunday, October 6, 2019 at his home. 

Cremation rites will be accorded and a celebration of life will be held Saturday, October 19, 2019 from 10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. at Grant-Johnson Funeral Home in Princeton.

Chuck was born July 1, 1962 in Grand Forks, North Dakota the son of Norma Goulet Murphy.  

He is survived by his significant other, Brenda Odell of Tiskilwa; 2 brothers: Randy (Kathy) Newstrand of Chadwick, Illinois and Mike (Nicole) Murphy of Tiskilwa; 4 sisters: Sue Newstrand of Princeton, Illinois, Mary "Angi" Murphy of Princeton,  Michele Ebel of Greenville, Wisconsin, and Sarah (Justin) Kluever of Annawan, Illinois;  his dad, Jerry (Helen) Murphy, of Tiskilwa; his favorite aunt and uncle James and Brenda Parrott of Princeton; nieces and nephews: Noah, Mikayla, Maddie, Jessica, Amber, Chris, Ashli, Ryan, Paige, Matt, Abigail, and Garrett; and Brenda's family: Breann (Brian Bosi) Birdsley, Adam (April Buchanan) Odell, Andrew (Trish) Carroll, Jim (Kayla Sobin) Odell, and Kelly Odell.

Preceded in death by his mother.

Chuck graduated from Tiskilwa High School with the Class of 1981. He was a longtime employee at Becks West in Princeton and a cook at the Indian Valley Inn in Tiskilwa.

He loved fishing, Tiskilwa Indian football, and traveling. Chuck never met a stranger and enjoyed visiting with his friends and family.

  3. Sorry for the loss of your family member. My thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends. Used to sit a have a few beers with Chuck after he got done working at IVI. Would have come for his celebration of life on Saturday but will be in Peoria doing a walk for Autism, will be there in spirit! May God be with U all!!
