Tony Jay Jaggers

Tony Jay Jaggers, 69, of Wyanet, Illinois, passed away on Monday, September 21, 2026, at OSF St. Clare Medical Center in Princeton, Illinois, after a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by his loved ones.

Tony was born on July 26, 1957, in Princeton, Illinois, the son of Joe and Joanne (Blythe) Jaggers. He was a graduate of Wyanet High School and later attended Eastern Illinois University. Tony proudly served his country in the United States Navy from 1976 to 1980.

Following his military service, Tony began a career as an over-the-road truck driver in 1990. He continued driving until his retirement in 2016. After retiring, Tony began driving part-time for BPART.

In his spare time, Tony enjoyed hunting and fishing, but most of all, he cherished spending time with his loved ones.

Tony is survived by his siblings, Sally (Ken) Wilcoxen of Princeton, Illinois, and Terry (Wendy) Jaggers of Annapolis, Maryland; three nieces, Johnna Jacobson, Lindsay Jacobson, and Bailey Jaggers; one nephew, Michael (Beth) Jaggers and one great-nephew, Ethan Turpen. He is also survived by a loyal friend who was very dear to him.

He was preceded in death by his parents; infant sister, Janella Jaggers; his brother, Tracy Jaggers; and his nephew, Tyler Jaggers.

Per Tony’s wishes, a private graveside service will be held at a later date. His cremated remains will be interred at Forest Hill Cemetery in Wyanet, Illinois. Cremation rites have been accorded.

Memorials may be made to Tony’s family and sent to Grant-Johnson Funeral Home for disbursement to charitable organizations that Tony felt close to.
