Dora "Charlene" Hall

Dora “Charlene” Hall, 81, of Tiskilwa, passed away on Wednesday, July 29, 2026, at her home.

Charlene was born on August 15, 1944, in Princeton, Illinois, to Charles W. and Dora M. (Sullivan) Philhower. She graduated from Tiskilwa High School with the Class of 1962. On March 21, 1998, she married William “Tut” Hall in Tiskilwa. He preceded her in death on January 27, 2013.

Charlene worked as the manager of the Hennepin Hardware Store and later the Sheffield Hardware Store. She was a member of the Tiskilwa Methodist Church prior to its closing. In her free time, she enjoyed riding horses, especially trail riding.

She is survived by her daughter, Donita Marie (Gibson) Olds of Wyanet; two grandchildren, Nathan Sims of Tiskilwa and Nicole Sims of Rochester, Washington; five great-grandchildren; and two brothers, William “Bill” (Susan) Philhower of Geneseo and Randy (Cathy) Philhower of Tiskilwa.

Charlene was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.

Private burial of her cremated remains will be held at Forest Hill Cemetery in Wyanet at a later date. Cremation rites have been accorded.
