Patricia “Pat” Ann Kinard, 85, of Blue Island, Illinois, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 29, 2026, at her daughter’s home in Princeton.
Pat was born on March 2, 1941, in Indianapolis, Indiana, to John Glasse and Orrow Kincaid. When Pat was three years old, her mother passed away. Her father later moved the family to Chicago, where he married Violet Johnson. Violet raised Pat as her own, providing her with the love and care of a devoted mother.
She earned an Associate’s Degree from the University of Wisconsin. On May 21, 1966, she married Leroy Kinard in Chicago, Illinois. Leroy preceded her in death on February 25, 2008.
Pat worked for BlueCross BlueShield for 20 years before retiring in 2007. She was an avid reader who especially enjoyed romance and mystery novels. Pat treasured spending time with her family and friends and loved traveling with Leroy before his passing.
She is survived by her daughter, Stephanie (Jaime Kalman) Kinard of Princeton; her sister, Elaine Richardson of Chicago; her brother, David Glasse of Chicago; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pat was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Leroy; her parents; and her three brothers, Arvin Glasse, Bruce Johnson, and Phillip Johnson.
Services will be held at a later date. Cremation rites have been accorded.
Memorial contributions may be directed to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
