Dixie Diane Headley, 82, of Buda, Illinois, passed away on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, at Liberty Village in Princeton, surrounded by her loved ones.
Dixie was born on April 11, 1944, in Princeton, Illinois, to Earl and Marjorie (Shipp) Cornman. She graduated from Princeton High School with the Class of 1962 and later attended beauty school. Dixie worked for many years as a beautician and was also employed by Harper-Wyman. She retired as an Administrative Assistant from Van Packer in Buda.
Dixie married John “Jack” Eldon Headley on August 11, 1963, at St. Matthews Lutheran Church in Princeton. He preceded her in death on January 9, 2024. Together they enjoyed traveling and vacationing throughout their marriage. Dixie loved cooking and baking, but her greatest joy was spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her two daughters, Jacqui (Dave) Foster of Tiskilwa and Jennifer (Brian) Dunseth of Spring Valley; four grandchildren, Jake Foster, Natalie (Adam) Gahan, Melissa Dunseth, and Matthew (Marley) Dunseth; four great-grandchildren, Dallas Rice, Cohen Rice, Branson Ramer, and Remi Gahan; and two siblings, Steven (Jackie) Cornman of Princeton and Dawn VanderMeersch of Princeton.
Dixie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jack; and an infant daughter, Tracey Headley.
Private graveside services will be held at a later date at Hopeland Cemetery in Buda. Cremation rites have been accorded.
