Timothy D. “Mouse” Morris passed away on April 3, 2026, at the age of 66 in his home.
Mouse was born on November 5, 1959, to Charles Donald and Virginia Mae (Watson) Morris. He grew up in rural Buda and graduated from Western High School in 1978. A man of Catholic faith, Mouse lived by example, serving others quietly and faithfully. He remained closely connected to his community and the land throughout his life.
Mouse was a skilled carpenter who took pride in doing things the right way. He worked many jobs over the years, including farming alongside Lyle and Fred, making the wheat run to Kansas, and working at the Wyanet Locker during deer season. No matter the task, he was dependable and hardworking.
Mouse loved horses and enjoyed trail riding, especially long-distance rides. He also took part in traditions like the Polar Bear Cruise and the New Year’s Day Polar Plunge. He enjoyed bringing people together, including hosting his own “Homer Fest,” which created many happy memories.
Mouse was active in his community, supporting local events, 4H, agriculture, and Bureau Valley sports, and he enjoyed cheering on the Green Bay Packers.
Though he had no children of his own, he became part of many families and helped raise a generation. He is survived by his nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews; along with many families who considered him one of their own.
Mouse was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, Larry, Robert, Stephen, Thomas, and Anthony Morris.
A celebration of life will be held at 1:00 pm on June 7, 2026 at Manlius Tap in Manlius, IL. Cremation Rites have been accorded. Private burial of cremated remains will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Tiskilwa.
Memorials may be directed to the Sheffield Truck and Tractor Pull or your local 4-H Club.
In the end, what people will remember most about Mouse isn’t anything he owned or said – it’s that he was there. Some people leave loud legacies. Mouse left a steady one – the kind you don’t always notice in the moment, but feel deeply once it’s gone.

Rest in Peace my Brother! You will be missed.
My Brother has reached the end of his earthly toils. The brittle thread which bound him to earth has been severed and the liberated spirit has winged its flight to the unknown world. The silver cord is loosed; the golden bowl is broken; the pitcher is broken at the fountain; and the wheel is broken at the cistern. The dust has returned to the earth as it was, and the spirit has returned to God who gave it.
