Steven “Buzzard” Peter Bumgardner, 66, of Henry, IL passed away on March 4, 2026 surrounded by loved ones.
Buzz was born on September 6, 1959 in Spring Valley, IL the son of Louis and Dorothy (Casford) Bumgardner. He graduated from Henry High School in 1977. Steven married the love of his life Julie Mason on July 5, 2000 in Lacon, IL. He worked for NAPA running the parts department for many years prior to his passing. Buzz loved restoring cars from the ground up. He restored two, 1970 Dodge Darts and a 1969 Super Bee. He enjoyed snowmobiling and going for side-by-side rides. Most of all he loved spending time with his family and enjoying a cold one.
He is survived by his wife, Julie Bumgardner of Henry; one brother, Alan (Juanita) Bumgardner of Henry; one mother-in-law, Andrea Mason of Princeton; two sisters-in-law, Beth (Calvin) Standley of Malden and Heather Mason of Princeton; nieces and nephews, Mike Frawley, Nick (Kirsten) Frawley, Enderlee (Ethan) Griswold, Nash Ryden Griswold, John (Bethany) Standley, Hannah (Kyle) Bohm, Emma (Austin) Steward, Kenzie Mason and Jackson Mason; great nieces and nephews, Klayton Bohm, Claira Standley, Lewis Standley and Halston Bohm.
He was preceded in death by his parents, father-in-law, Donald Mason, and brother-in- law, Patrick Mason.
A private celebration of life will be held at a later date. Cremation Rites have been accorded.
Memorials may be directed to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Julie, we are deeply sorry for the loss of Steve. Upon our return trips to Henry, we always looked forward to seeing Steve at the pub and having a few cold ones!! He was great person and will be missed by everyone that had the pleasure to know him. Sent with all of our love. RIP Buzz!!!
