Carole Lillian Edith Novak, 80, of Buda, IL formerly of Wheaton, IL passed away on Friday, January 16, 2026 at Liberty Village in Princeton, IL surrounded by her family.
Carole was born on March 13, 1945 in Stouffville, Ontario, Canada the daughter of William and Edith (Jarvis) Morris. She graduated high school in Stouffville and then attended Shaw Business School. Carole met Richard Charles Novak in Chicago and after a courtship they were married on June 17, 1967 in Stouffville. They began their life together in Wheaton, IL and to this union three daughters were born, Krista, Jennifer and Elizabeth. Richard and Carole were longtime members of Faith United Methodist Church in Lombard and the board of the Bureau Valley Antique Club. Through the years they enjoyed many summers camping at Woodhaven Lakes. Richard preceded her in death on June 3, 1994.
After her husband’s passing Carole moved to Buda, IL. She worked for OSF St. Luke’s Medical Center as a receptionist in Kewanee. Carole also became a member of the Red Oak United Methodist Church in Walnut. She enjoyed antiquing and could never pass up a good bargain. Carole loved playing bridge, Uno and going to the casino with her $20.00 limit. She volunteered anytime she could with the local food banks, buddy bags and would lend a helping hand whenever it was need. Carole never met a stranger. Most of all she cherished spending time with her family.
She is survived by three daughters, Krista (Kurt) Muell of Yorkville, Jennifer (Michael) Johnson of Lombard and Elizabeth (Martell) Price of Jacksonville; seven grandchildren, Keelyn Muell, Kamden Muell, Kylie Johnson, Jack Johnson, Ava Johnson, Kaleb Price and Kira Price; beloved companion, Lawrence Moore of Buda; two sisters-in-law, Dorothy Morris of Uxbridge, ON and Shirley Shoemaker of Parrish, FL; nieces and nephews, Heather Balas, Sherry Doodchenko, Michael Morris and Craig Celus.
Carole was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother, Clifton Morris and infant sister, Gladys Morris.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm on Thursday, January 22, 2026 at Grant-Johnson Funeral Home in Princeton. Additional visitation will be held from 11:00 am until time of funeral service at 1:00 pm on Friday, January 23, 2026 at Faith United Methodist Church in Lombard, IL with Rev. David Price officiating; in the care of Williams-Kampp Funeral Home in Wheaton. Burial will immediately follow at Wheaton Cemetery in Wheaton, IL.

Carole was such a wonderful lady. Met her at Red Oak Methodist Church. Always friendly and good to be around. My sympathies to her family. She will be missed.
