Melissa Jane Brisbin, 59, of Princeton, IL formerly of Sandwich, IL passed away on Tuesday, September 23, 2025 at OSF St. Francis in Peoria, IL.

Melissa was born on July 13, 1966 in Sandwich, IL the daughter of Delbert LeRoy and Barbara Jean (Murphy) Davis. She married Rodney Dean Brisbin on August 8, 1992 at Au Sable Grove Presbyterian Church in Yorkville, IL. Melissa enjoyed reading fiction novels mainly by JD Robb; she loved to bake any kind of dessert you could think of. Melissa also like to go boating and fishing in her spare time, but most of all she loved spending time with her family.

She is survived by her husband, Rodney Brisbin of Princeton, two children, Alexandra Jane Brisbin of Marseilles and Nathan Dean (Brianna) Brisbin of La Moille; three siblings, Michael (Sharon) Davis of Seneca, Mark Davis of Princeton and Matthew (Amanda) Davis of Adamsville, TN; along with several nieces and nephews.

Melissa was preceded in death by her mother, Barbara Davis.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm on Wednesday, October 1, 2025 at Grant-Johnson Funeral Home in Princeton. Funeral Service will be at 11:00 am on Thursday, October 2, 2025 at Au Sable Grove Presbyterian Church in Yorkville, IL with Reverend Jenny Hubbard officiating. Burial will immediately follow at NA AU Say Cemetery in Yorkville, IL.

Memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society.

  4. Melissa was my sister-in-law but she treated me like a true sister. She was always happy and there to help. We leaned on each other when we needed to and laughed as well together. She was the glue of the family and she made sure things got done. She was all about family and wanted us all to be together as much as possible. She loved her pets and treated them like they were her children just as I do mine. We always laughed about t it. I will miss her laugh the most. My love goes out to the rest of the family during this trying time. Love always
